BBQ to Bicycles: Start of Everything
We’ve decided to move to Amsterdam.
There’s no timeline yet. We don’t have a date or a checklist or anything remotely figured out. But the decision’s made, and that’s enough to start.
We were just there walking the city, skipping the tourist stuff, doing our best to live like we already lived there. We wandered neighborhoods, tried new spots to eat and drink, got a little lost on purpose, and kept coming back to the same feeling: this could actually be it. It felt easy, familiar, and like we belonged and we just…fit.
We’re still in San Antonio. Still in the house. The fur babies are completely unaware. We’re reading a lot, making rough plans, trying to figure out how the hell this kind of thing even works. Visas, jobs, costs, timelines, all of it. It’s a lot. But we’re in. And now that the idea is real, it’s already shifting how we see everything around us.
This blog isn’t meant to be helpful, at least not intentionally. It’s just a way to document the whole thing from right now, when we’ve done exactly nothing, to whatever comes next. The plan is to write it all down as it happens. The thinking, the logistics, the good days, the hard ones. No polish, no pretending we know what we’re doing.
So yeah. That’s where we are. BBQ to bicycles. Here we go.
