Pause on Social Media
I’ve decided to take a long break from social media, especially Reddit. It’s become one of those things I can’t keep opening without getting frustrated or, honestly, outright angry. Every time I open the app, it feels like a wave of negativity and frustration hits me. It’s like the site is just primed to piss me off, and I’m tired of it.
At first, it seemed harmless, even helpful. There are tons of communities, tons of people talking about pretty much everything, but at some point, it just started to wear on me. The drama, the arguments, the endless debates that never go anywhere – it’s exhausting. I’m over feeling like I have to brace myself for whatever chaotic post or toxic comment might be next.
This pause is about clearing my head and not letting that constant stream of negativity get to me. I want to focus more on the things I enjoy, on things that actually improve my mental health and help me feel good. This break from social media, Reddit especially, is a step toward doing that. Maybe, eventually, I’ll come back. Maybe not. But for now, I just can’t.
