Taking Flight: Why the DJI Air 3S is My New Go-To for Capturing Texas
I finally picked up the DJI Air 3S with the Fly More Combo, and I’m honestly stoked about this setup. The case keeps everything packed up nice and tight, which is perfect since I’m trying to take a drone pretty much everywhere I go now. I’ve even made it a goal to start exploring more of Texas, getting out there to capture all these spots I’ve been wanting to see. This gear just makes it easier to get moving.
The Air 3S has been awesome so far, especially with that panorama mode. The wide and telephoto lenses together? Game-changer. I’m getting shots that look as good—if not better—than what I used to get on my Air 2S, and all in one take. I used to worry a bit about the Air 3S only having a 12MP sensor compared to the Air 2S’s 20MP. You know how I get about megapixels. But honestly? I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The quality is solid, and I haven’t felt like I’m missing anything. Don’t get me wrong, the Air 2S is still a great drone, but it’s kind of bulky and the battery life just doesn’t keep up. The Air 3S is so much easier to toss in my bag and actually use.
Lately, I’ve even been using my iPhone for a lot of stills and video, and I’ll admit it’s pretty impressive. It’s hard to beat that convenience when you’ve got it right there in your pocket. That said, I still love having a camera with real buttons. There’s just something about the control you get from actual hardware that makes a difference, you know?
At this point, I’m just tired of feeling limited by my gear. I want stuff that lets me capture what I’m picturing in my head, no compromises. And the Air 3S is doing exactly that. Whether I’m out exploring Texas or just catching a quick shot after work, it’s ready to go and keeps up with what I want to do.
